Private by design

Your writing stays under your control.

For personal use, TypeSeer runs autocomplete on your Mac or PC. Mac dictation and translation also run locally. TypeSeer never sends your writing or audio to us or an AI provider.

  • ✓ Personal autocomplete runs on your computer. Mac dictation processes speech on your Mac
  • ✓ Models and language packs download once. Writing features then work offline; paid licenses need a check within seven days
  • ✓ Never suggests in password or secure fields
  • ✓ Internet is used for model and language downloads, updates and licensing. See our privacy details for optional support requests

With TypeSeer for Business, autocomplete uses your company’s server over its private network. Read the privacy details.

How it works

How AI autocomplete works

No new app to learn, no window to switch to. TypeSeer lives in your menu bar and works wherever your cursor is.

1

Just start typing

Write as you normally would: an email, a message, a document. TypeSeer quietly watches the box you’re typing in.

2

A suggestion appears

Grey text shows how your sentence could continue, right at your cursor. It never touches your own text until you say so.

3

Tab to accept, or ignore it

Press Tab to take the next word, and again for another. Type something different and it gets out of your way. Type what it says and it stays, shortening as you go. The key above Tab takes the whole thing.

TypeSeer suggesting the rest of a sentence in Apple Mail: the typed words “It w” are continued by the grey text “ould be great to join the meeting.”
A real suggestion in Apple Mail. TypeSeer read the message being replied to, so the continuation fits the thread.

System-wide

Mac autocomplete in every app

TypeSeer isn’t a plugin for one editor. It works at the system level, so the same assistant follows you across almost everything you type in.

Mail Notes Slack Safari & Chrome Messages Word & Pages TextEdit …and more

Not a fixed list. If an app uses a standard macOS text field, TypeSeer can generally work in it. See which Mac apps autocomplete works in, including where it stays quiet on purpose.

What sets TypeSeer apart

It learns your words, in every language you write

Turn on private learning to get suggestions that reflect your writing. Switch languages and TypeSeer follows your sentence.

Learns how you write

Optional, and off until you turn it on. TypeSeer remembers the sentences you finish, along with the words, names and phrasing you actually use, and offers them back when they fit what you’re writing now.

  • ✓ Learns only from finished sentences. Never from the one you’re still typing, or a suggestion you ignored
  • ✓ Text you accept can become part of a learned sentence once you finish it, just like the rest of the text in your document
  • ✓ Remembers the names and terms you use often, and only offers them when the context actually calls for them
  • ✓ Review shows every sentence it has learned. Export them, delete one, or clear the lot
  • ✓ Can learn each website separately, keeping the site address and nothing else

Fluent in your languages

TypeSeer works out the language of each thing you type and carries on in it. Switch languages mid-message and it follows, with no toggle to flip. It isn’t just the AI: spelling and word completion know the language too.

  • ✓ Dedicated dictionaries and word tables for 15 languages - English, Polish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian and more
  • ✓ Name the languages you write in (pre-filled from your Mac) so a Polish word is never flagged as an English typo
  • ✓ Notices a language you write but haven’t ticked, and offers to add it. Once, then never again
Same document, no switching

More than autocomplete

Small features that add up, all day long

Everything is tuned for one goal: helping you type less without changing how you work.

Fits the conversation

TypeSeer can read the message you’re replying to, so suggestions match the thread instead of guessing. Replying to an email, “Hi” is followed by the sender’s name. It reads only the window you’re typing in, never password fields, and setup asks before it reads anything.

On-device AI, ready out of the box

A built-in model, about 3.8 GB, tested to run well on every supported Mac. Macs with 16 GB of memory or more can also choose a larger one. Advanced users can add any model from Hugging Face that has a GGUF file.

Text snippets

Type ;addr, press Tab, get your full address. Snippets support placeholders like date, time, and clipboard.

Spelling fixes

Misspell a word and TypeSeer offers the fix. One Tab and it’s corrected, even in apps with no autocorrect of their own.

Optional grammar checking

Mistakes are underlined in blue, and every fix is shown before it’s made. With the built-in model, Apple Intelligence does the checking, on your Mac. Experimental, and needs macOS 26.

Finishes the word you’re on

Type “tomo”, press Tab, get “tomorrow”. TypeSeer uses the rest of your sentence to work out which word you meant.

Writes in your language

Works out the language of each sentence and carries on in it, even when you switch mid-document. 15 languages with their own dictionaries.

You can see everything it learned

Review lists every sentence TypeSeer picked up and where it came from. Export the lot, or delete one without wiping the rest.

Quiet and unobtrusive

A menu-bar app with no Dock icon and no window. It stays silent in secure fields and steps back when you don’t need it.

Speak instead of typing

Press ⌃⌥D and talk. TypeSeer types your words as you speak, and can translate them too. All on your Mac. More about dictation.

Rephrase what you wrote

Select text, press ⌃⌥R and pick a style: more formal, more relaxed, shorter or clearer. You see it before it replaces yours. More about Rephrase.

See what it saves you

Statistics in the menu shows the time and keystrokes TypeSeer has saved you. They stay on your Mac.

Light on your battery

TypeSeer runs its model a light way, so it uses little of your Mac while you type. You can also pause suggestions whenever you’re on battery.

Your keys, your way

Choose the keys that take a word, take the whole suggestion or dismiss it, in Settings → Keyboard. A quick double press like Tab Tab works too.

Also on Windows

AI autocomplete for Windows

The same private autocomplete, on your PC. It suggests in Word, Outlook, Teams, Slack, Discord and your browser, reads the window you’re typing in, learns how you write, and fixes your spelling. The model runs on your PC’s graphics card, so nothing you type leaves it.
