How it works

No new app to learn, no window to switch to. TypeSeer lives in your menu bar and works wherever your cursor is.
Just start typing
Write as you normally would — an email, a message, a document. TypeSeer quietly watches the text field you’re in.
A suggestion appears
Grey ghost text shows how your sentence could continue, right at your cursor. It never touches your actual text until you say so.
Tab to accept — or ignore it
Press Tab to take the next word, and again for another. An optional General setting makes a quick double-Tab take the whole suggestion. Type something different and it gets out of your way; type what it says and it stays, shortening as you go.

TypeSeer isn’t a plugin for one editor — it works at the system level, so the same assistant follows you across almost everything you type in.

It learns your words — in every language you write
Two things a generic autocomplete can’t do: sound like you, and keep up when you switch languages. TypeSeer does both, entirely on your Mac.
Learns how you write
Personalization is optional. When you enable it, TypeSeer quietly studies the sentences you finish — the vocabulary, names and phrasing you actually use — and weaves them back in when they fit what you’re writing now.
- ✓ Learns only from completed sentences — never from the sentence you’re still typing or a suggestion you ignored
- ✓ Text you accept can become part of a learned sentence once you finish it, just like the rest of the text in your document
- ✓ Remembers the names and terms you use often, and only offers them when the context actually calls for them
- ✓ Review Data shows every learned sentence; export a readable copy, delete one entry, or clear the active collection
- ✓ Optional website affinity can prefer writing learned on the same site while storing only its hostname
Fluent in your languages
TypeSeer detects the language of each thing you type and continues in it — switch languages mid-message and it follows, with no toggle to flip. And it isn’t just the AI: spelling and word-completion are language-aware too.

Fits the conversation
Optional context awareness lets TypeSeer read the message you’re replying to, so suggestions match the thread instead of guessing — all on your Mac, never password fields, off until you turn it on.
On-device AI, tuned out of the box
TypeSeer recommends one measured, roughly 3.5 GB base model that runs well on every supported Mac. Advanced users can still add another compatible MLX model from Hugging Face.
Text snippets
Type ;addr, press Tab, get your full address. Snippets support placeholders like date, time, and clipboard.
Spelling fixes
Misspell a word and a subtle hint offers the fix — one Tab and it’s corrected, even in apps without autocorrect.
Optional grammar checking
Choose a compatible instruction-tuned custom model to review everyday grammar locally. The default base model keeps this switched off; every proposed fix is shown before it is applied.
Context-aware word completion
The local model decides whether the letters at your cursor are a finished word or the start of a longer one, using the sentence around them. “tomo” + Tab → “tomorrow”.
Writes in your language
Auto-detects the language of each sentence and continues in it — even when you switch languages mid-document. 15 languages with their own dictionaries.
Your learned writing is inspectable
Open Review Data to see what TypeSeer learned and why it is relevant, export a readable copy, or delete one sentence without wiping everything.
Quiet and unobtrusive
A menu-bar app with no Dock icon and no window. It stays silent in secure fields and steps back when you don’t need it.

Getting started
Installing TypeSeer
TypeSeer is signed and notarized by Apple, so it installs like any other Mac app — no scary warnings, no workarounds.
- Download and drag to Applications. Open the DMG and drag TypeSeer into your Applications folder, then launch it. It lives in your menu bar — no Dock icon, no window.
- Follow the quick setup. On first launch TypeSeer recommends a model for your Mac and downloads it once you confirm, then walks you through granting Accessibility — the only permission it asks for, done once in System Settings.
- Start typing. Ghost text appears wherever you write; each Tab accepts the next word. You can optionally make a quick double-Tab accept the whole suggestion.
