The deal, in plain English

Version 2026-08-18 — the same agreement TypeSeer asks you to accept when you first launch it.

1. Who these terms are with

TypeSeer is made by Digital Llama, based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Digital Llama governing your use of the TypeSeer application and this website. By downloading, installing, or using TypeSeer, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use TypeSeer.

2. The licence we grant you

When you buy TypeSeer (or during your free trial) we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use TypeSeer on the Macs you own or control, for as long as your licence or trial is valid. One licence covers two of your own Macs — if you reach the limit, you can free a seat with Deactivate this Mac in Settings and use it on another.

You may not: resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute TypeSeer or your licence key; share your key publicly or with people who haven’t paid; or reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app, except to the limited extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction. The software is licensed, not sold — we keep all intellectual property rights in TypeSeer itself.

3. The free trial

TypeSeer is free to use for 14 days, with every feature unlocked, no account and no card required. The trial is tracked entirely on your own Mac. When it ends, suggestions pause until you buy a licence — your settings, snippets, personalization, and downloaded models stay exactly where they are. Nothing is deleted, and nothing is charged automatically at the end of a trial.

4. Buying, billing, and renewals

Purchases are handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, who act as the merchant of record for the sale. Your payment details go to Lemon Squeezy and never pass through us — we never see or store your card details. Your licence key is emailed to you as soon as payment clears; paste it into Settings → License to activate.

Current plans are £2.99 / month, £23.99 / year, or a one-time £59.99 lifetime licence. Prices are in GBP and include VAT or sales tax where your country charges it, so what you see is what you pay at checkout. We may change our prices from time to time, but a change never affects a purchase you have already made — a lifetime licence stays a lifetime licence, and a change to subscription pricing would only apply from your next renewal, with notice.

The monthly and annual plans are subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each period using the payment method on file, until you cancel. The lifetime plan is a single payment with nothing recurring.

5. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel a subscription at any time from the Manage subscription… link in the app (or via the receipt email from Lemon Squeezy). Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. You can also move between monthly and annual — the change takes effect at your next renewal.

Because TypeSeer offers a genuinely free 14-day trial of the complete app before you pay, we generally don’t offer refunds on licences once purchased — you’ve had the chance to decide whether it earns its place first. That said, if something has gone wrong — a key that won’t activate, a double charge, a plan bought by mistake — email us and we’ll put it right. None of this affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

6. The AI models

TypeSeer works by running a large language model locally on your Mac. Its default is Google’s Gemma 4, downloaded on first use after you confirm the choice.

Google publishes Gemma 4 under the Apache License 2.0. The default checkpoint TypeSeer downloads is the MLX conversion Animateus/gemma-4-E2B-6bit, published under the Gemma Terms of Use. Your use of that checkpoint is therefore governed by the Gemma Terms of Use and Google’s Gemma Prohibited Use Policy, which are incorporated into this agreement by reference — by using TypeSeer with that model you agree to those terms and that policy, and you must not use the model, or TypeSeer in conjunction with it, for anything the Prohibited Use Policy forbids. “Gemma” is a trademark of Google LLC; Digital Llama is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. TypeSeer also lets you download and run other models of your choosing from third-party sources such as Hugging Face. Each such model is licensed by its own rights holder under its own terms, and you are solely responsible for reviewing and complying with them, and for making sure you have the right to use that model for your purposes. We don’t supply, endorse, or grant any rights in third-party models, make no representation as to their licensing, and disclaim all liability arising from your choice to download or use them.

7. Suggestions are generated text, not advice

TypeSeer’s suggestions, completions, and corrections are automated text produced on your device from what you type. We don’t claim ownership of that output. It can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate for your context. You are responsible for reviewing anything before you rely on it or send it, and for ensuring your use of it complies with applicable law and with any licence governing the model that produced it. TypeSeer does not provide professional advice of any kind — legal, medical, financial, or otherwise — and its output should never be treated as such. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty that suggestions are accurate, suitable, or non-infringing.

8. Acceptable use

Use TypeSeer lawfully. Don’t use it to break the law, to infringe someone else’s rights, or in any way the applicable model licences prohibit. Don’t attempt to disrupt, probe, or circumvent the licence checks, update mechanism, or the security of the app or this website.

9. Privacy

TypeSeer is built so that what you type stays on your Mac. Exactly what does and doesn’t leave your device — and the short list of third parties involved — is set out on our Privacy page, which forms part of these terms.

10. Availability and changes to the app

We work to keep TypeSeer reliable, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis and can’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. TypeSeer depends on things outside our control — Apple’s operating system, third-party model hosts, and your own hardware. We may update, change, or discontinue features over time; where a change would materially reduce what a paid plan offers, we’ll act reasonably and give notice.

11. Disclaimers and limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TypeSeer is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill; and our total liability to you for any claim relating to TypeSeer is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain of these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law allows, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

12. Third-party software

TypeSeer includes open-source software from Apple, Hugging Face, ml-explore, the Sparkle project, and others. Those components stay under their own licences, which prevail over these terms for the components they cover. The attribution notice and the full licence texts ship with the app — see About TypeSeer → Acknowledgments — and are listed on our Acknowledgments page.

13. Ending the agreement

You can stop using TypeSeer and delete it at any time. Your licence ends if you seriously breach these terms — for instance by redistributing the app or your key. When the agreement ends, the licence to use TypeSeer stops, but nothing requires you to delete data that already lives on your own Mac.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and the courts available to you under the law of your country.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as TypeSeer evolves. If we make a material change we’ll update this page and note the date below rather than change things quietly; significant changes to a paid plan will come with notice. Continuing to use TypeSeer after a change means you accept the updated terms.
