Why TypeSeer exists
A simple conviction: autocomplete this good shouldn’t require sending everything you type to someone else’s server.
Modern AI autocomplete is genuinely useful — anyone who has used it in a code editor knows the feeling of a suggestion landing exactly right. But almost every tool that offers it for general writing works the same way: your keystrokes travel to a cloud server, get processed there, and the suggestion comes back.
For email, private notes, and messages to the people in your life, that trade never sat right with us. Apple Silicon Macs are more than powerful enough to run capable language models locally. So that’s what TypeSeer does: the model lives on your Mac, the predictions are computed on your Mac, and your writing stays on your Mac.
What we believe
- Privacy should be structural, not contractual. A privacy policy is a promise; on-device inference is a fact. TypeSeer can’t leak what it never receives.
- Tools should disappear. TypeSeer has no window and no Dock icon. If you notice it at all, it should be because it just saved you a sentence.
- Honesty over hype. The features page describes what actually ships — no marketing fog; the pricing page shows the real prices, with no “from £x” asterisks or feature-gated upsells. If something doesn’t work well in a specific app, we’d rather hear about it than hide it.
- Pay for software, not with your data. TypeSeer is a paid app with a free trial. That’s the whole business model — there are no ads, no analytics on your writing, and no data to monetize.
Where it is today
TypeSeer is an independent project. The core experience — system-wide ghost text, on-device models, self-learning personalization, multilingual suggestions, snippets, spelling fixes — is in place and gets better with every release, in no small part thanks to the people who tell us where a suggestion lands oddly in a specific app.

Who’s behind TypeSeer
TypeSeer is built by me, Dariusz Szul — a software developer with more than 20 years in the industry. I started it to get the autocomplete and writing help I’d long relied on in my code editor everywhere else on my Mac, and I’ve built the whole thing myself: the on-device model, the system-wide text integration, and the app around them. It’s shaped every week by a small group of testers who tell me where a suggestion lands oddly — that feedback is a big part of why it keeps getting better.
